We are across the street from FIU, in the Publix Shopping Center. That landmark is more use than the street number if you are driving down 107th — look for the Publix, and we are in the row of units facing the lot.
Is there parking?
Yes, and it is free. Free parking at the address — it is a strip mall lot with plenty of spaces. No permit, no meter, nothing to validate — park in front of the unit and walk in.
Also at this address: Miami Shooters Club — gun training for everyday people, run by our co-owner Marcos Avellan. A separate business at this address, not one of our classes.
Where do people travel from?
We are on SW 107th Ave, across from FIU, which puts us near the middle of West Miami-Dade rather than at the edge of it. Most people who train here come from the neighbourhoods immediately around the gym — Westchester, Tamiami, University Park and Fontainebleau — and a steady number drive in from Kendall, Doral, Hialeah, The Hammocks, Kendale Lakes and Coral Gables.
Students also come from further out — Miami Beach, Kendall West, Miami Gardens and Homestead among them. There is one gym at one address and no second location, so if the drive is long, the 24-hour access below is usually what makes it work: you come when it suits you rather than when a timetable says so.
When is the gym open?
The facility is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and it is staffed. There are over 70 classes a week, running from 6AM until 1:45AM, and open mat sessions every day on top of those.

- Can I just walk in?
- You are welcome to, but calling or texting 305-225-4610 or sending the form first is better. Your first visit is a free private lesson with an instructor plus a tour, and that needs an instructor free at the time you arrive. We call you back within 24 hours to arrange it.
- Is there more than one location?
- No. Freestyle Fighting Academy has operated from this one address in Miami since October 2001. Any other gym using a similar name is not us.
- What else is at this address?
- Miami Shooters Club, a separate firearms training business run by FFA co-owner Marcos Avellan, operates inside the same facility. It is not one of the martial arts classes and is not part of the free trial.
